What is it?

Patellar tendinitis, also known as jumper’s knee, is an injury to the tendon which connects the patella to the shinbone. It is more common in athletes and is caused due to overuse and repeated stress on the patellar tendon.

Signs & symptoms

Treatment

Treatment includes pain relievers, exercises for stretching and strengthening, patellar tendon strap, iontophoresis (electrical current), steroids injection, oscillating needle procedures and in rare cases surgery.
