It is usually caused due to problems in blood supply to the joints which causes pain and disability. Other causes include stress and trauma to the bone. Children who play sports are at the greatest risk for developing osteochondrosis. These diseases are divided into categories, depending on where they occur- articular, non-articular and physeal.
