What is it?

Oppositional defiant disorder is a behavioral disorder that affects children and adolescents. These children have a behavioral pattern of anger, irritability, arguing, and defiance. This behavioral pattern must last longer than 6 months in order to be diagnosed. Symptoms usually begin in preschool years and cause significant impairment with family, friends, and school.

Signs & symptoms

Signs and symptoms of ODD may include people who are losing temper easily and often, easily annoyed by others, often angry, argumentative, defied or refuses to comply with adults’ requests or rules, deliberately annoys others, blames other for his or hers behavior, spiteful, and vindictive.
