Neurogenic bowel is a condition affecting normal bowel function due to innovation problems. It could happen, for example, due to spinal cord injury, and nervous system disorders such as multiple sclerosis or a stroke. The two main kinds of neurogenic bowels include: - Reflex spastic bowel, when there is difficulty relaxing voluntarily the anal sphincter. - Flaccid bowel problem- which means that there is a reduced movement in the colon and the anal sphincter is loosened than normal.

Symptoms may include constipation, diarrhea, trouble having bowel movement, loss of feeling of a full bowel, nausea, abdominal pain, and stool leaking.
Diagnosis is based upon findings from medical history and physical examination. Further evaluation may include anorectal manometry to test the activity of the muscles around the anus, imaging of the spinal cord and the anus.
Treatment may include routine bowel management which is a scheduled routine no temove stools, diet changed, medicines and other methods such as abdominal muscle training, botox injections to the anal area, electrical stimulation, exersice, laxative regminen and more.
