Li-fraumeni syndrome

Li-Fraumeni syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that increases the risk you to develop a malignant disease. People who have Li-Fraumeni syndrome have a 90% chance of developing one or more types of cancer in their lifetimes. Female with Li-Fraumeni syndrome have a nearly 100% chance of developing breast cancer in their lifetime. The more common types of cancer seen in the population are: - Soft tissue sarcoma - can developed in muscles, tendons fat, blood vessels, and lymph nodes. - Osteosarcoma - a rare bone cancer. Usually affects teenagers. - Breast cancer - almost 100% chance to develop breast cancer in lifetime for female. - Gliomas , medulloblastoma, and choroid plexus carcinoma- forms of brain cancer. - Neuroblastoma - a malignant tumor developed in nerves tissue. - Adrenocortical carcinoma - this is a type of cancer that forms on people’s adrenal cortex.
