Bariatric surgeries are surgeries in which the digestive system’s structure is being changed in order to help people who suffer from obesity lose weight. These surgeries work either by reducing the reabsorption ability of the digestive tract or by minimizing the amount of food intake. Complications of bariatric surgeries include:
-Bowel obstruction
-Dumping syndrome leads to symptoms such as nausea, sweating, weakness, and dizziness after eating.

- Hernias through the cuts that were made in the abdomen.

- Malnutrition- Vitamins and minerals deficiencies
