I want to know why I’m always in pain. But no one believes me and no one will help me. My legs and my back are pretty much always hurting. My periods get so bad that I can’t get out of bed but when I went to the doctor about it, she told me to take ibuprofen which I already know doesn’t help. I’m at a loss.

      @wise my obgyn says my case is complicated and that it has never been treated properly by past doctors. The effects of this had become so widespread that I was attached to my hearing pad 24/7, and I used a motor chair at the grocery store because my trips used to end when I started crying from the pain in my joints. My ankles, knees, or hips don't move correctly anymore. I have pelvic floor dysfunction so I have to do a lot of yoga practices and I realized as I did it I was fixing the dislocations. My doctor's confirmed that it was related to my Endo. It's not EDS, but I didn't realize that's what it was until my friends with EDS told me.

      Do you know if you have a retroverted uterus? Sometimes a person with a retroverted uterus will have super intense back/leg cramps during their period because their uterus rests against their spine. Is that the only reason your periods are so painful? or are you also having heavy bleeding. try smooth muscle relaxers like candied ginger or peppermints for the cramps, ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory drug and period cramps are not caused by inflammation

      Endometriosis is basically an autoimmune disorder that causes excessive inflammation throughout the entire body. It causes your joints to have extra space which causes light dislocation which can be extremely painful. Your muscles are trying to compensate for the pain that you're feeling so they'll pull your back of place.

        @LunaElisabeth where did you hear any of this???? none of it is true. endo isn't autoimmune or inflammatory, and it DEFINITELY doesn't cause dislocations. you have a whole lot of other stuff going on that you need to see a doctor for

          @wise actually there was a new study released a few months ago saying it behaves like an autoimmune disorder and causes inflammation through your whole body, that's why your back, shoulder, or hip will generally start hurting first. I actually went over this with both my PCP and obgyn referencing these studies, and making sure I understood what I read correctly. Endo belly is caused by overall inflammation, not just a swollen uterus. My joints have progressively gotten worse and it always correlates to my pain. My endo journey is 7 years long. Ibuprofen has destroyed my stomach and caused me to develop GERD. I've had 3 surgeries, spoken to an oncologist, an endocrinologist, NP, GI, nutritionist, the works. I follow all the research as soon as it comes out to educate myself and my doctors because they simply don't know enough about it unless they dedicate time to learning more about it. I've heard the dumbest shit out of doctors mouths. Because they're relying on OLD research. The study I'm referencing was published within the last 12 months. One of my special interests is the history of obstetricical practices. There's a lot of misinformation and misogyny that doctors need to unlearn, even today.

      I went through this for years and I still go through this so I just stopped going to the doctor. I started doing a bunch of research. I started falling a low FODMAP diet I started figuring out my trigger foods started stretching more and working out more and I also take cannabis pills I hope you find something that works for you.
