Weight gain on venlafaxine/Effexor

Has anyone had weight gain with venlafaxine/ Effexor ? I had weight gain on Lexapro and switched to venlafaxine because it had less of a chance for weight gain and might help with migraines as well. The weight has not gone away and it is not proportional. A lot goes to my belly and makes me look pregnant and strangers and aquatances ask how May months along I am and I am losing confidence and patience.

Hey!! Effexor didn't cause me any weight gain. It also didn't help with migraines. I take Propranolol and it helps with anxiety and migraines. Hope that helps!! 💗

I had worries about this after other medications I'd been on causing me significant weight gain but i have lost 5 kilos since starting venlafaxine 3 weeks ago as it stops me from being at all hungry. I've read it can go either way but so far is the only one to cause loss instead of gain for me and does wonders to my mood. I hope you have positive experiences with or or find the right one for you
