Escitalopram (brand name Lexapro) is not really like that from my experience, and is not known for this either. Hope this helps.

personally complete opposite tbh, way less of an appetite. What a lot of people get wrong however is thinking there are changes happening from a metabolic/physiological level as a result of taking Lexapro or any SSRI. However this is +- physically impossible, it’s calories in vs calories out. Lexapro can cause changes in weight and this will mostly be due to changes in appetite (might not even notice), and possibly changes in activity levels due to psychological changes in taking it - for good or for bad That’s not to say side effects can be a pain in the ass, but with SSRIs especially it is nowhere near being on that level

Lexapro can be a big weight gainer even for people who are not prone to weight gain like me. Some ssri's just change your metabolism, so it doesn't matter what you eat, and that is so disheartening. I'm on the lowest wellbutrin. It can raise your BP and make you jumpy, so it's important to start low. What I have NEVER seen, and it's my last hope if this gets worse, is hypnosis. Right now, it comes and goes, and if I'm absorbed in something, I usually don't hear it. But that could change. It's really horrible to have something that can't be fixed.

It has never caused me to gain weight, but it can cause headaches from my experience. Everything else is fine, never got really fatigued or depressed or manic on it.
