Detox journaling may help. Write down these severe emotions or thoughts and why you may be having them or being triggered by them. Don't overthink it. Just write what comes to mind and get it out if your system. You may be holding onto things subconsciously that need to be brought out. Once you get it on paper...crumple it up and throw it away. Try doing it everyday...when you wake up if possible for a few weeks. May take a minute to get into it, but I've heard it really can help once you get going and start releasing these things.
Do you go to therapy or any counseling? If it’s an available and affordable option for you ofc. That’s probably the thing that will help the most
