Anyone else tired of hearing “diagnosis seeker”? It’s not like I’m trying to collect every diagnosis I can possibly get. I want to know what’s wrong so I can treat it. How am I supposed to help something if I don’t know what it is? I hate being so broken and having a list of diagnoses. But without the diagnosis, doctors can’t help. They’ll say I’m making it up or it’s just anxiety. I’m not looking for something to be seriously wrong. I want to under what’s going on.

I get told I have white coat syndrome sometimes. I report it when people say these things to me. I’m capable of reporting unprofessional behavior while others may not be. And everyone deserves to feel respected by their care staff

Same here, I have glaring issues that have lead to many hospitalizations (all involuntary) and I find that some ‘professionals’ just completely invalidate me. I don’t even think it’s necessarily malicious, it’s genuinely their own ignorance and lack of caring for due to mental exhaustion. They study 8+ years and go through rigorous training, sure, but they are learning various that hardly touch on real life experiences (that all vary greatly) while we live with our conditions every single for a significant amount of our lives. So the problem is that some (not all) mental health professionals have a ‘savior complex’ when they first decide to go into the field but genuinely have no idea what they’re in for

Haven't heard of that term, but it sound like gaslighting to me.

I was told by a previous therapist that I didn’t need condition “labels”, but I truly believe I do. They make it so much easier to be taken seriously, and floundering around trying to treat symptoms instead of realising the root cause is EXHAUSTING.
often for my chronic illness im even classified as a drug seeker when in an episode so bad i have to be hospitalized. one time they didnt give me any meds for 12hrs and i broke a rib from puking so much. drs arent shit.
I think it's so frustrating! Especially since a lot of health issues are linked and you would think doctors of all people would take that into account. I know a lot of people with long lists of health issues who struggled with this

I was diagnosed with fibro at one point. When I switched doctors she said it wasn’t on the list so she wouldn’t look into it

I feel like this is even harder when you have fibro. You don't know if the pain is something wrong or just pain. I saw many doctors just to rule things out, they did kinda see me as a waste of time, but they were at least nice. Keep trying to figure things out and don't give up if you think something else is wrong. Fuck what others say
I definitely feel this
