Hello,I am new. I have been chronically ill since birth. I have survived years of different types of abuse. I am now dealing with more chronic illnesses. I struggle with depression most days to some extent. I get anxious whenever I leave the house. I am trying to find the light in the darkness every day.

Hello! I also grew up with chronic abuse. I found it helps to rephrase things to have a silver lining. Aim to accommodate the sad thought instead of fight it. The day *is* gloomy, but x (ex: a flower you saw on the side of the road) was nice. Over time you'll start to notice things you appreciate more easily. It's really hard to retrain yourself to allow yourself to focus on the good and not just survival.
