does anyone else feel bad when scars heal? I'm almost 60 days clean and I can't stand it, it feels like my struggles aren't even real now that they're gone. I hate the feeling but want to know if anyone else feels the same way and how to avoid it?

I completely understand this feeling. It's so hard to not relapse because you want them to stay fresh so it feels like you have to do it again and again - I know it's hard but it will be worth it in the long run. The more you push though and heal and get better the less you will think about them and the easier it will be to resist the temptation ❤️ I still have a slip up occasionally, but I haven't had a severe one in several years now. Overall it is not a strong urge on a regular basis, mostly due to being around healthier people and a better environment where I know I'm safe

Your struggles ARE REAL!!! Very very real! And you are still healing ( I'm not sure if this helps at all :( )
I feel that so much. It's why I decided to tattoo over my scars a little at a time. You're absolutely not alone there
@Jennbug thank you so much, I'm going to do that for sure when I get older!
hey, i dont share this exact experience but i have heard many people describe the same things and feelings so i know you are not alone. however i can definitely relate to the feeling of invalidating my struggle because the signs of it fade.
@acid.nuggies thank you!! ♥️♥️

Yes, some people feel bad when their scars heal. One user mentioned that as their scars fade, they feel useless and like they didn't do enough. It's important to recognize that your struggles are real regardless of the presence of scars and seek healthier coping mechanisms. Talking to a therapist or support group can help you navigate these feelings.
