I have a lot of sh scars that never bothered me before. I used to think of them as part of my past that I was never ashamed of because they are part of what made me who I am today. they meant that I've made it past the worst years of my life, but recently I don't want to see them anymore. I don't know if I just want them to disappear because I'm ashamed of them or because I don't want to be reminded of that time in my life. I don't want to work on making them fade and then regret it later.

I totally get the sentimentality behind wanting to keep them. As we get older I think those kinds of things from our past we like to guard more closely to the heart. I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping them prominent, though
how long have you felt that you don’t want them anymore? you should wait a few months or couple years and see if you still feel the same
@bunniigutz I started feeling that way a few months ago but in the past few weeks it's been bothering me more
@MichealB if you have a therapist you should discuss this with them
