Struggling with Mental Health and Feeling Dismissed by Psychiatrist

sooo spoke with my phycatrist today told him how I've been feeling and how my meds aren't working anymore he pretty much told me there's nothing he can do and I have to push through it.... I waiting 25 minutes for him to even jump on the telehealth call and spoke with him for maybe 5 minutes. everything I said to him was shoved off and that set me into a spiral of emotions. literally have been crying about everything ever since 3pm today. I called a couple other physcatrist places and one did except my insurance and they emailed me a intake form I have to fill out whitch I'm excited but nervous about beacuse who's to say this physcatrist dosent do that same thing ? I'm also on day 5 of a migraine and I have no convinced myself I have a blood clot, brain tumor, brain aneurysm, I also have a low grade fever . nauseous, slightly blurred vision in one eye and pressure and pain in my face as well as a toothache! 😥 every emotion and mental illness is triggered right now ! health anxiety, OCD , depression. I feel so lost and hopeless.

      You're definitely not alone in this, I'm always sitting in the waiting room for so long, and he brushes off what I say all the time. I have to wait till March for insurance reasons so hopefully switch to one I've heard is better but I don't know if that's set in stone yet either. I wish you luck with your new one, hopefully they can help you like you said they did last time!

      I'm so sorry it has triggered all of this, but very glad you were able to find another and hopefully there will be a better outcome. I would definitely start off by bringing this to the attention of your new psychiatrist when you go first thing. I am on my 3rd psychiatrist for this very reason, because I never felt heard and things I felt were always brushed off as minor things. Hang in there ❤️

        @c4tmom I definitely planned on telling the new phycatrist , I mentioned it to the receptionist on the phone when I spoke with him 🤣🤦‍♀️this is now actually my 3rd as well , exactly thats exactly how I felt and feel today ! Thank you so much for your support I really do appreciate it ❤️

      Screw that psychiatrist. That response is completely unprofessional and sounds like absolute bs. If the meds aren't working, there are things you can do such as upping the dosage, trying different meds, therapy, etc. That is NOT what you say, especially to someone who is very clearly struggling mentally and needs help. I suggest also seeing a doctor if you're very worried about your symptoms. I really hope this new psychiatrist works for you and helps you. 💕

        @dandelion_flower my thoughts exactly! I was like I'm shock and cried at the same time ! I was like I'm sorry what did you just say ? Like again mental health just shoved off to the side ! It's not like I was asking for more " drugs " I've been on the same medication for 4 years ... I do CBT therapy. I had therapy right after that call thank God 🤦‍♀️and I plan on going to urgent care tomorrow If i don't feel better. Thank you so much for your support 💚💚

      I think it’s amazing that you were able to find a new psychiatrist the same day! So if this new psychiatrist doesn’t work out then you know you can do it again. It takes time and tears to find the right one but you got this

        @Tuxie125 I just have to fill out the intake papers whitch I'm doing tomorrow ! I'm just nervous yano... And I've actually been to this one before awhile ago but they stopped accepting my insurance but now there back in network with my insurance and before they really helped me ! And ain't that the truth .. it's so frustrating someone I thought I could trust just throws me to the side and dosent actually HEAR me.
