@Moonnite It’s good that you have a friend to talk to, but therapists are professionals and can provide tools + help in a way that your friend can't. Plus it can very easily strain a friendship, and you need a good support network right now ❤️

Grief is a complex process that applies to many things in many ways, maybe none moreso than when we lose a loved one. When we lose someone that gave us the space to talk and figure things out, while feeling safe and secure in a way others never did, it can be hard to imagine you will find it elsewhere. I just hope you keep looking. They learned it from somewhere, and I hope you can find it here (there or somewhere). It might not be the exact way that she did (There's no replacing the hole left by your GF, but hopefully we can build things around what she left), but I hope it can still give you a similar feeling. Sometimes this can be found with a good friend, but sometimes it's also worth trying therapy, even if only temporarily, as they are trained to hold space, and in listening while creating a safe space.

Are you currently in therapy? Might help to have some external factors helping to ground you.
