I know this is gonna sound odd but just hear me out plz I am in a never ending cycle of depression with an event that happened to me in 2020. I was told by my doctor that I couldn't have kids and it's bothered me ever since. I have been trying to fill the void with different hobbies and such but I just can't find out what makes me happy. I've been wanting to get a reborn doll to help with my therapy but I don't know if I should or not... I think it will so I'll have that "parental" feeling but I don't know... I used to make them and I quit because 1.) it was hurting my hands and when I lost feeling in my fingertips it made it harder to paint and 2.) I didn't want my dog to think that I was not giving him as much time and attention and I would feel bad if I spent a chunk of money on a doll or the paints or whatnot (my dog has health issues and I don't want to feel bad for buying something for myself when I could have bought something for him) I've been struggling with trying to decide what to do and I feel like the longer I take to decide the worse it gets. one minute I won't have anything to do with the hobby or the thought of getting a doll and the next I'm wanting to buy outfits and accessories... I hate this cycle so much

Honestly just find something to love somebody something to make u feel like a mom whatever it is and sometimes it’s best to clear your head and just take some time to get clear so u can figure out the best thing to do that’s what I did because the more healthy you get the more time u get I believe so take some time away to get some back. U really can’t loose time getting better cuz it will come back to u

You know, it's just a suggestion, but given the situation I'm going through, it's really opened my eyes to a lot of things.... Have you ever thought about volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, or somewhere you can share your love with children in need of it?? It's not the same, but you can develop relationships with kids that could supercede that of a natural one and give them something they may not receive otherwise. Lord knows I'm thankful for every volunteer that's placed a smile on my face. And who knows, maybe sometimes, some of them you can take on lunches, or call each other on the phone. Children have pure forms of love, it can bless you too.

@Sincerely * my kids faces.... Let me clarify. It makes me feel good to know my sons have had extra support, because it's been desperately needed. I kinda typo'd because it was two thoughts at once.🤦🏾‍♀️ I have a tendency to do that alot. Smh

Try getting a cat, and get it a stroller so you can take it around with you, get it toys and watching it eat is so cute, just like a baby and will help so much with PTSD.

I think that everything you said absolutely makes sense. A little different, but I have a cat who I've had for 14 years, basically my entire life, and I recently got a hamster because I needed something more dependent on me to care for and feel better

I agree with what @darkstarrynight said! I think that planting something and taking care of it would be a good solution if you’re someone who likes plants.

Yes! Getting a doll or something that is like a robot you can feed, will definitely help!

@darkstarrynight If you want something to take care of long term, (like a child), plant a tree and take care of it!
