Struggling to Get Through Each Day

I’m so depressed that every day I wake up already wishing the day could be over. I’m so bored but too depressed to find things to pass the time and I don’t know how I’m going to get through this. I’ve been holding on for years in hope of things getting better but they never do.

Have you tried EMDR. It is suppose to do wonders. I cannot find a counselor that does it in my area but you should look into it

I think you just helped me realize my depression is getting worse again. I keep forgetting that waking up wanting the day to be over isn’t normal.

I highly recommend learning to knit or crochet. I started making a blanket for my son and I work on it every time I get too depressed. It helps. 💕

I know this isn't helpful, but I'm going through the same thing, it's comforting to know I'm not alone in this. For me a change of environment sometimes helps get me excited, do u have family to visit or stay with awhile? Maybe friends?

What have your thoughts been on meds? Totally not a long term solution but it can give the little boost we need to find those non-medication things that help us feel better! I was on escitalopram for 8 months after suicidal ideation, and have been off since October, and it's tough trying to stay off the meds but they definitely gave me the boost i needed to try to do this!

Maybe a friend or pen pal. Also find some hobbies.

I'm sorry, I'm in a similar place right now. I honestly can't speak to what might help you, but I have my cat, who makes me feel less alone, and having him encourages me a little to at least play with him and feed him. I guess maybe start out small? Some quiet music while you're in bed? Maybe watch some old YouTubers or shows you used to enjoy?
