Struggling with BPD and HPD: Seeking Understanding

For me, just like any illness, it stays between me and my treatment team. I only share with people I know won’t hurt my recovery and only support me. It’s hard finding people that want to support you but there are about 8 billion people so hopefully you will find someone!

So misunderstood and so hard to open up about! I want to be an activist and spread awareness to these things, but I would struggle to share my story/conditions due to the stigma and people finding out I have a PD and wondering what they think of me now

Hi Soren! It is definitely true that many people don’t understand what’s it’s like struggling with a personality disorder. and it’s even highly stigmatized. I didn’t seek help until I was 17 and it was bad at that point.
