Struggling with Anxiety and Depression

i know i have anxiety and depression, but i can't help wondering if there is other stuff involved? I'll get irrationally angry over nothing, I'm exhausted just about all the time and have no motivation, i feel less anxious when I drink coffee, i either can't do something or can't stop (didn't clean for six months and then spent a whole day cleaning to a point where i didn't stop to eat). but another part of me tells me to stop looking for problems. i support self diagnosis but i also feel like i can't have it so bad to diagnose myself

Can you help? connect today

I mean all those things you mentioned are symptoms of anxiety and depression. Have you spoken to your psychiatrists

Wow i can reallly relate to all of this except the coffee thing. That is interesting coffee makes you less anxious because I feel you often see the opposite. Yeah the motivation and fatigue (and I think irritation but I’m not sure, with that one I also wonder if there is any trauma to delve into in therapy idk, I struggle with anger and irritation too)can definitely fall into depression symptoms, and I don’t know if the random manic thing you described can also fall in there but I’ve experienced that too and haven’t been diagnosed with anything different.

Yeah I think it is good to just take these symptoms to address with your therapist and don’t worry about a diagnosis as much as treatment of the issues you are having, leave that other stuff up to them and also don’t take it to heart because sometimes they can throw a diagnosis out there that u might not FULLY qualify for just so you can get some treatments associated with that disorder that may benefit some of your symptoms

I fully relate to the anger and the all or nothing compulsion. Maybe check out BPD, there are several different types, I’m personally quiet. I’m nowhere near an expert on these matters, but BPD is the thing you’re missing from your profile and I have depression and anxiety already

I am right here with you, I can relate to all those things! Coffee has the opposite effect on me and I have no idea why

I know that for myself, anger is usually accompanied by depression. When I'm really angry, especially toward my family or for no reason, it is usually a sign that I need to check in on my depression. The hyperfixation (not cleaning and then only cleaning) is a sign that I need to check in on my anxiety. I have diagnoses of bipolar 2 and bpd. Maybe you should look into those?

For me my anger is deeply rooted in my depression and ptsd. For me it is a fight or flight response, but as far as self diagnosing goes I think it can be helpful. It can help you find methods to help with getting some more help with your symptoms!
