I know this is kind of a hard question to answer on its own, but how can i stop bottling up my emotions? i’ve been having trouble figuring out the real me for a few years, and i thought that this was a good place to start.

Try journaling! Write down how your day went, random thoughts that enter your mind, anything you want to vent or ramble about. It might feel awkward at first, but once you get into the routine it feels completely natural. Make art to show how you feel. Looking back on the things I wrote or made in the past provides a lot of insight into who I was and what I was going through back then. It helps a lot since I don't have a great memory

Maybe journaling could help! And if motivation starts to dwindle, make a reward system! Like, 'once i finish writing about today/yesterday, i can finally have that snack or treat ive been craving' or something around the lines of that :)

I dont have the answer, but for me it was my best friend commiting suicide that broke me open. My who life i couldnt cry but i did the day i got the call.
@Wish that’s kind of the issue though. i’ve tried multiple things to achieve self-actualization, but i can never get into the right routine. my problem is motivation

Therapist is a great way to start
@ThatOneNerd i talk to a social worker every week. He helps me know what to do, but i still need to know how to actually start doing what i need to do
I love singing, too, so to force myself, I have a rule to sing whenever I do the dishes. I dance while my coffee brews in the morning. I change my bedding every Sunday. I try to sit outside every day for a bit. Maybe starting with small efforts like that would help?
Finding a good outlet to experience those parts of yourself is hard, but so important. It's probably tied to your interests. What do you like to do?
@loveshespoke i enjoy singing, playing video games, making and editing videos, coloring, and definitely other things but i can’t think of anything else. one thing i should add is that i don’t really do much of these things. i know i like them, but it takes a lot of motivation to do them. i end up watching YouTube videos all day and i always regret it.
