I was on zoloft before I got pregnant, along with a few other mental health meds. I stopped all of them cold turkey(bad idea, but i was fine) when I found out I was pregnant because I didn't know what was safe to take. My psychiatrist and OB kept reassuring me that it was the safest mental health med to take during pregnancy, and I should start it back up if I was starting to feel down. My OB would tell me every visit that any side effects it may have on the baby were minimal and would go away and that having a mentally stable/happy mom was more important for the baby's development than any side effects I was worried about. I ended up not restarting it, but after my emergency c section, they immediately started me back on it that night while in the hospital because they were concerned for any postpartum depression I might experience. I've been breastfeeding my baby for 4 months now and still taking the Zoloft. I haven't noticed any issue with her receiving it in the breastmilk.
