I need to find a new therapist because my job/insurance changed, but it can be so exhausting to recap all the trauma in my life... Any tips for starting with a new therapist when you've already worked through a lot of stuff, but it's still relevant?

@woodlandfolk agree, get a copy of your medical record transferred to your new therapist, it'll eliminate a lot of explaining and reliving

Request a transcript and maybe a second copy. One for you one to give the new therapist. This way you have a record if you need a quick peek at the progress. Or if you want to have a mini viking funeral. Just don't play with the fire. Trust me. Also, having a list of medications, your primary doctor, diagnosises, and goals for therapy/health in general.

Make sure to ahead of time write down everything you feel is relevant, and if it's more comfortable for you instead of having the conversation you could write to them and explanation with the things you don't want to speak about so they can get the information that way. Also make sure to specify what you've already made progress working through and what you're still working on
Just be honest with them that you've made progress and it's hard to reopen up to someone new. I've done that many times. I hope for best of luck for you. ❤️
@LeighAnne Thank you ❤️❤️
