I just experienced one of the more severe flares I've ever had. I usually have a rough time at the change of seasons (Solstices and Equinoxes). It was so severe that I ended up going to the E.R. I have a bevy of chronic symptoms on a daily basis, but this 3-4 week flare takes the cake. *Please know that I did go to the E.R. and had testing to confirm that I wasn't in life threatening danger. It sure felt like it though. These are the symptoms that had gotten increasingly more severe over a 3 week span of time: ▪︎severe, crushing chest pain with deep pressure and heat going from the front, through my chest wall to my back ▪︎severe migraine (an increase in intracranial hypertension leading to visual changes, dizziness, nausea, and vertigo, ▪︎a sudden decrease in GFR, leading to decreased kidney function, ▪︎an indescribable sharp, stabbing pain that went through my entire right breast. It felt like a million tiny razor blades throughout the breast tissue on the right. ▪︎severe bone pain, with costochondritis (connective tissue inflammation) along the entire rib cage, front to back. When the symptoms started to worsen (increased brain fog, insomnia lasting at least 36 hours at one time, but many bouts of insomnia over 3 weeks time), I decided it was time to go to the E.R. I try very hard NOT to go to the E.R. It is very stressful and painful for me to go through. I wasn't going to seek pain medication. That had been an assumption over the years. There are so many people that go to the E.R. as drug seekers. I made it clear that I was not there for pain relief. once there, I received: -EKG, a -CT angiogram of my lungs blood work including -CBC -a cardiac, and coagulation screening -CMP (complete metabolic panel showing kidney and liver function) Most of those came back within normal ranges except for my kidney function. My GFR has been low for years. I have Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 3. So my eGFR has been in the high 30's to low 40's for years. I had a sudden drop in GFR from 42 to 36, indicating renal hypertension. The strangest part of this came after I left the E.R. Over about a 24 hour period of time, my body dumped over 20 pounds of fluid, and a lot of the pain and symptoms dissipated. As I think about it, this has happened a LOT over the years. Please, is there anyone put there who has had even some of the same pattern of symptoms when the seasons change??? This was pretty wild, and now that I have had this most severe episode, I know there has to be someone who also has experienced this.

It seems you have experienced a severe flare-up of symptoms, including chest pain, migraines, decreased kidney function, sharp breast pain, and costochondritis. You went to the ER and had various tests done, most of which came back normal except for your kidney function. After leaving the ER, your body released a significant amount of fluid, and many of your symptoms improved. While I cannot provide medical advice or diagnose your condition, it is important to discuss these symptoms and patterns with your healthcare provider to determine if there is an underlying cause or connection to seasonal changes.
