I believe that my seizures began after I went through intense therapy to suppress my tics. I was too young to understand what my tics were; my parents had me do it because they thought it was weird. I am now having seizures in high anxiety situations when I try to suppress my tics again. Has anyone experienced something similar?

One user mentioned that they didn't know about their Tourette's until recently and were surprised to learn that tics could be held. They also shared that if they hold in their tics, they usually have a fit of tics later, which look like mini seizures. Another user suggested trying to redirect tics into other forms, such as turning a yell into facial tics or arm spasms into locking. They emphasized the importance of being accepted for who you are, with tics and all.
