I've recently been told that the doctors dont know if I still have epilepsy anymore. Let me start this off by saying I've been diagnosed with photosensitive epilepsy since I was 8 and I have absent seizures but I believe I have developed myoclonic seizures in my late teens. I recently did a EEG and nothing showed up but it could just be medication masking the epilepsy or I might not have epilepsy anymore. That sounds great when you first think about it but for me personally thinking that the thing I've suffered with for so long could be my brain playing tricks on me is infuriating and the fact that the only treatment if it isn't epilepsy anymore would be therapy and exercise basically. idk how to feel, what do I do?

@yumiko yes. I was 4 years seizure free. They didn’t take into consideration that I had been on medicine since I was 2 and I was about to hit puberty.

I went through the same thing and wound up having a massive seizure a few years down the line. Been back on meds for 14 years. You are allowed to say “I disagree” and go to a second opinion.

@JoranTal were you taken off your medication because they thought the epilepsy wasn't there anymore? and thats why you had a big seizure?
