asking for a friend. I've been having seizures since I was thee and can't remember anything super vividly until I was about 13-14 not sure if it's epilepsy or trauma related?

I had seizures for 25 yrs it's possible that they can't remember because at that age you most likely don't remember anything. I was diagnosed at 1997 and didn't remember my seizures until 2002 when I was in 2nd grade. I have had my seizures forever and I don't think I will get better. I am not a doctor but you can always talk to a doctor. Its possible because you are too little or it could be both. Everyone is different.

I really hope this is a response for the question your friend has. It's a little unclear whether they're saying they can't remember much of their life before 13 or 14 or if they're saying they don't remember a lot about their seizures specifically before 13 or 14. Some people just have really bad memories? My mom remembers every face and name in her kindergarten class. My dad remembers very little about his childhood before highschool. Also, it may be epilepsy related. There are studies you can look up of epilepsy being related to everything. But I'd go with 'spotty memory'/'odd memory development' until I talk to a neurologist I trust. That said, there's a good 6-9 months of my life I don't remember because I had nerve pain in my back that then was a trigger for seizures. I have people's phone numbers who I don't know and text messages about classes I don't remember. So, was it the pain or the seizures that blocked out that entire semester? Don't know. But it's not been a recurring thing, so I don't worry about it.

@songSungblue30315 in terms of the epilepsy it was diagnosed at 3. So just trying to figure out if it's related to that or something possibly traumatic?

Epilepsy can appeared at any age so I would check that first
