hey, just joined. I am having major winter depression that vitamin D and my UVB lamp no longer seem to cure. It hits for a few days, then goes away. I've had some luck taking a huge (12,000 IU) dose of D or spending a long time in front of my lamp. But after a few days of that it quits working. I've had this about 15 years, and every year it gets a little worse. Doctors have tried Buspar and herbal supplements, but they don't help. I'm nearing the end of my rope.

One suggestion from the provided content is to try light therapy with a 10,000 lux lamp for half an hour sessions, ideally centered around sunrise or sunset. Additionally, some people have found relief by taking Vitamin D3 and a multivitamin, or trying antidepressants like SSRIs (Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil, Celexa, Lexapro). It's important to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and treatment options.
