Can RA go into remission for months at a time? Last year I was experiencing increasing and extreme joint pain, to the point I had to use a walking stick just to get to the toilet in the night, the doctor was investigating possible RA as I had many of the symptoms and a family history of it. My blood tests however were inconclusive, but inflammation markers were raised and I was put on the wait-list to see a rheumatologist and put on Meloxicam to help me be functional. After a few months on Meloxicam the pain and inflammation has basically gone, I still have stiffness and fatigue but I'm mostly back to normal and while I'm extremely thankful not be in constant pain, it's thrown more uncertainty and questions my way. Is it RA in remission? will it come back? was it something else entirely? Looking for anyone who can help me unpack the mystery.

It is possible for RA to go into remission, but it's important to consult with a rheumatologist to determine the cause of your symptoms and whether it's truly RA or another condition. Remission can vary in duration, and it's essential to continue monitoring your symptoms and working with your healthcare team to manage your condition effectively.
