I finally found a therapist I actually feel comfortable with but my mother doesn’t trust she is doing her job correctly just because she doesn’t see “results” or a difference in my behavior at all.. I have little experience with therapy so i just have a question, is it normal for any “results” to happen after only a few sessions?

Everyone’s progress is different, so it isn’t fair for your mother to expect so-called “results” after only a few days. Your thoughts and feelings are complex and unique. It takes time to build meaningful change and improvement. The only thing to truly “expect” within the first few days is trust in your therapist. If you like your therapist and feel comfortable dedicating more time with them, then that is all you need look for. Similar to beginning any type of anti-depressant medication, you won’t begin to see any noticeable signs of improvement for at least 6-8 weeks. Therapy is a tool, not a magical cure. Hope this helps and best of luck to you.
