I'm a trans man who deals with pmdd. My mood swings are rough and incredibly hard to deal with sometimes. When the week of emotions is over, my period starts and I get really disphoric about my body. Does anyone have any similar experiences and/or advice on things that might help make things easier for me?

I am also a trans individual with pmdd, but I deal with the pmdd emotions even on the week of my period. Things I do that help me: 1. If you have other transmasculine friends, talk to them about your dysphoria because no one will quite understand like they will -- it's important to relate on these things. 2. Ibuprofen. The less pain you feel from cramps, the less likely you are to be aware of your period. 3. Wear clothes that give you euphoria and bind (unless it hurts, but I always like to wear a sports bra if I can't bind) do everything that makes you feel like a man. 4. Tampons rather than pads. 5. Boxer briefs, can make you feel manly while also holding a pad. 6. Keep a mindset that you are a man! And some men bleed. And that's okay. 7. If you take an antidepressant, ask your doctor if you can take a higher dose the week before your period. It works wonders.

I’m so sorry. I am still trying to find something that helps. I’m actually going to start therapy next week. I take Cymbalta for anxiety and depression but honestly it doesn’t seem to work as well as it did the first month. I’ll keep you updated as I try different things. In the meantime you can always text me and talk to me about anything, I’ll listen ❤️😁
