I was in the upper 300s for the majority of today and just wouldn’t come down much/ it didn’t last more than a few hours when I did. I felt awful and finally broke down crying tonight. My partner scolded me and told me I my behavior was inappropriate and to be quiet because we have neighbors. He says I’m dramatic. I called my family crying and told them what was going on. It turns out I had keytones and was not exaggerating as my partner said. He said he can’t always believe me because I lie about my numbers. I have NEVER lied about my t1d. I have no idea why he said that or why he was so mad I was sick. He was yelling at my mom on the phone. Has anyone else dealt with partners who react this way?

I’m also type 1 diabetic and I’m on this health program that has helped me manage my blood sugar levels better than anything before, and it’s cool because this program doesn’t just look at your weight health, they look at the health of your relationships and mental and emotional well-being as well, if you’re interested I can help you look into this program! I’m a new health coach in this program :)

Hey, this broke my heart to read. I obviously don’t know anything about your relationship but it does not sound healthy. This is not normal behavior AT ALL and you should not accept it. Even if your bg is perfect in the moment, you still have 1000 reasons to cry. I know people without type 1 will never understand what we go through physically and psychologically but you deserve someone who tries to understand and learn.
