is it normal to have really strong and overwhelming sensory processing issues? to a point where it feels like hallucinations? for example, let's say i think about an apple. and suddenly i feel like i can seriously feel an apple in my hand, like i can smell it, and like i can actually taste it in my mouth, and it's all extremely realistic to where it does feel real; except it's not there. I've always thought that this was an autism thing because of the sensory part, but i don't know, and i haven't found the motivation to consult my psychiatrist about it, my friends and family and even therapist don't know what it could be, so i don't know. this has gotten to a point where anytime i even look at something, no matter what it is, i can feel the texture of it on my hands and it's extremely annoying now. same for taste, but with foods and drinks. even if i haven't tried the food or drink before, my brain comes up with a taste for it, and it makes me taste it, even if im not actually eating or drinking it. another thing; let's bring the apple back. i can make myself hear me crunching and munching on it even though im not eating it or it isn't even there. and a more concerning one: i hear gunshots at random. but only in a way that sounds realistic that at first moment i think it's real but then process that it's my mind or sub-concious that + having paranoia is not a good thing, to say the least. i tried looking stuff up on all of this but I've only gotten results about "olfactory, gustatory," and some other types of hallucinations. thing is, when i look up things on those, i mostly find that it's linked to schizophrenia or psychosis or something. i really doubt i have those, though.. this is confusing and i don't know what it is and i want at least a vague idea and try to narrow it down if i can.
