What are your OCD tendencies or pet peeves?

What are some OCD or OCD-like tendencies you have? Or just pet peeves? Like for example, I always eat ice cream layer by layer, even when it doesn't have any. I also have a habit of turning off any and all light and closing the doors on my way out of any room, even outside my own home. Bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, friends house, garage, etc. And I hate pencils. I always have to use pens wherever I go, though that might be more autism related.

I never thought about my icecream but I eat it the same way. I always make it flat on the top. One that really annoys me to the point where I get stuck in executive dysfunction, is when I need to do multiple things like shower wash dishes or vacuum and do laundry. I have just right ocd and I think, “I should do my dishes before I shower so I can wash the ick away.” But then I think about how doing all the dishes will get rid of the hot water and I’d have none left for my shower. So I just sit and stare at a wall doing absolutely nothing instead. Or “I should vacuum before doing laundry so the clean hair doesn’t get fur on them.” But I have to go to a laundromat and while I’m gone the animals will be all over the furniture again so should I just vacuum after I get back from laundry? Idk idk idk but it all stresses me out and I usually end up doing nothing

Or ideally I like to shower in the afternoon but in the wintertime it gets too cold and dark earlier so now that idk when to shower I just don’t… and it’s not good.

Yes!! 100% agree. Executive dysfunction is the worst. I also find loopholes in my own strategies, like if I clean up this dinner and then take a shower my hands will already have lots of grime on them, but I will also be very tired after and not want to shower anymore. It's the worst feeling, especially when I really, really want to do these specific things now in a certain way, but the certain way isn't the best way.

I have rituals that become part of my daily life, even if I hate them. For example, I have to use the restroom right before I sleep every single time, or everything feels wrong. Every time I wash my hands, I have to do it three times or I believe I’ll get sick or spread gross things. I can’t eat food that touches another food and I can’t eat without a very specific kind of fork or spoon — that might be more autism related as well, though!
