This is a stupid question. But does anyone set mass amounts of unnecessary alarms to get up in the morning? Like I get up at 5:45AM everyday, usually naturally, and get to work at 6:45AM (supervisor thinks I come in at 8AM) but I set 54 alarms stating at 5:45AM thru 9AM *just in case*

Oh my god yes and my husband always teases me about it and how ridiculous it is that I set so many *just in case* alarms every morning ๐

I have an alarm set for 8 a.m. (almost) every morning. I always tend to sleep through it or I hardly hear it

Lately I use an app called Sleep Cycle and it starts to wakes you up slowly by going off little by little over an hour until itโs time and then keeps going until you turn it off. Iโm not a morning person but I think I prefer this compared to a loud alarm that I shut off over and over. I do try to work afternoons tho because itโs too much stress to get up every morning, I try to follow what my body is more comfortable with
@Maybelline27 that sounds good too. Is that app in the apple or android store?

@E_belli I have an IPhone
My son does, he sleeps through alarms so he sets an insane number so he eventually wakes up
I do

That's good that it is set so that you don't have to reset. I turn mine off in the morning bc I don't want to hear them when I go to work. I have to reset the before I go to bed. I getchu about basically waiting to go to bed. I find myself doing that a lot. Except I stay up late but don't do very much anyway. I have occasional productive day with the help of the Tiimo app!
I do for the morning and everything else I need to get done daily, not sure why.
@Lon7 if it works, it works!
@E_belli kinda, I've been able to keep up with dishes, cooking, cleaning cat litter boxes and washing. Before I would come and sit and wait to go to bed. Would worry myself thinking of doing because my thoughts made it too complicated. If I skip a day I'm ok with that because that alarm will ring again the next day.
That's not a stupid question. No question is a stupid question. At least that's what I was told all my life! I do not have that many alarms. I do have six alarms. I need those reminders. I do need a lot more than I have, and you are the person that gave me that idea! ๐
@Reallyhopeful I like that philosophy. Do you turn them on everyday or are they set to go off automatically! Yay! Though I do not recommend 54. It's pretty excessive lol. And very annoying. But I find the more I set sometimes the faster I'm moving in the morning. Just bci have to keep looking at the time when I shut off my alarm! I think it works!
100% same over here โ๐ผโ๐ผ sometimes still can't get up ๐ถ
@Hayls the struggle is real!
I know a few awesome things and it feels really good when you tell people. Spreading love every day is what I strive for. ๐ I know I sound super korney lol but true. When you do good for others you feel good inside too. It's good for depression too which I'm fighting really bad with being totally overwhelmed with life. Take it easy yall much love always. There's different music choices too and stuff in said apps as well. I only mentioned what I use in the app but they have multiple features.
It helped me to change my alarm to a random Spotify playlist. It confuses my brain so it's easier to wake up.

@luteallady never thought of that either!

No problem I love to help ๐
I'm pretty good with research lol. Thought I could help. It's a pretty simple topic. My app is free too. ๐ฅฐ sorry I am a bit bias lol But hope this helps yall IPhone folks
@DariaFae thank you SO MUCH!! I'm definitely going to into those! Appreciate your time!
Pulled from the internet Alarm Clock Xtreme is not available for iPhone but there are some alternatives with similar functionality. The best iPhone alternative is Awaken. It's not free, so if you're looking for a free alternative, you could try Easy Reminders or Toonie Alarm.
I use alarm clock xtreme for Android. It has many awesome features including what I use , a math problem to wake up... and you can set the difficulty and an amount. You also can put it to deep at different intervals and even set a back up alarm that's silent for a said amount of time then goes off seeing if your actually awake and with your phone. It was a life changer for me and much more simpler. Also after your awake it doesn't keep going off and annoying everyone else in the house... lol
@DariaFae I'll have to see if I can find something like that in the apple store. I like the idea of doing a math problem. That's smart! And I like that it doesn't keep going off, Ya know just to be considerate :) thank you!
Me on the daily
@Sunnydaze26 the things we do for our mental health lol
Yes and sleep through them :( donโt even remember it usually
@tummytrubs the alarms just sound the same water a while!
Yes every day
@MichealB always a joy to wake up to! ๐
๐๐๐I have 7 alarms in the morning... my partner doesn't like it
@dream6284 I do empathize with the partners to us bc they also have to hear our crazy alarms! But we need them!
@E_belli he deals well. It's when I turn off an alarm and then pull the phone in bed with us because of course I'm just gonna lay there and play on my phone for a few.... ๐๐๐
I also was a snooze, iโd snooze thinking it's been 4 minutes when it was really 40 minutes! 15 mins is a good time. I set mine for every 2-6 minutes, it differs depending on the hour lol. Oh my goodness that's a long time! But hey, if it's a food memory, more power to you. I ask Siri to turn mine off when I leave for work so I have to reset them every day. I'm out of the house by 6:30 so 2/3 of them never get the chance to ring!
Yeah there's a good chance I'll miss the first half or accidentally cancel instead of snooze, plus I snooze a lot so it's usually easier on me to just start like an hour early and have alarms every 15 minutes until I actually have to get up. Also I end up hoarding them because i never remember to turn them off ๐ I've had an alarm set for 16:45 as a reminder to go to a park I no longer live near for over two years, at this point it's almost sentimental
Yes! I get up at the first one but I have a bunch that go off until I leave for work to make sure Iโm still getting ready not zoned out on the couch
@Nesta thatsโs how I've been lately! I used to not wake up and sleep through most of them but now I get up but still think I need them to keep me moving, similar to what you said- to make sure I'm not watching the cute animal channel I put on for my dogs! Though they ring constantly so really what's the point. Haha.
Same๐ค
Yeah, I really struggle to wake up in the morning so I need this sort of thing. Even then it often doesn't work ๐ฅ
@Mop I'm better at it now than I used to be worse than I am now. I used to do the same thing! Which is why I started doing it!
@TheBigSpook my ex-wife did too! She always got up on the first one and was so annoyed that they went odd during her shower.
Y u p! And half the time I STILL manage to sleep through them.
@Marshmello there has bee times in the past where I have slept thru them bc my mind doesn't always register the alarm bc it's always ringing. But since I've done it before I am overly concerned that I will do it again!
Same!
@BornAnxious glad I'm not the only one!
