my gp has put through a referral to see a cardiologist and to do a tilt table test as she suspects pots, but waiting lists are atleast 4 months. recently symptoms have been worse, i am fainting all the time and im scared to shower or go out and even to stand up. my average heart rate standing up goes from 60bpm to 180bpm and i am stuck with no treatment:( what can i do to safely manage symptoms at home until i can get treatment, especially how can i bring my heart rate down? symptoms have worsened since my last appointment, do i call them again and ask for another? thank you in advance:)

thank you guys so much for the help :) i had a really bad flare up over the past few days and went back to a different gp and now have a hydration plan over the next 3 weeks and if that doesnt help my symptoms we will look into other treatments!! (my blood pressure dropping when standing is currently at a dangerous level and we want to make it more manageable) my gp has advised to clench and unclench my feet before standing, and to stand up slowly as i can, putting my legs up and having extra salt and electrolyte drinks has really helped💕

Lots of water, lots of sodium (like up to 10 grams a day)!! I have also found inverting (laying on the ground with my legs up against a wall) very very helpful to manually get blood back to my heart. Take it as easy as u can and listen to ur body, and post here again if u are having more issues ❤️

Drink so much water. Get an electrolyte drink! Liquid IV is often recommended, I personally drink body armor lyte (low sugar helps me). Get a salty snack in your diet to help with your salt intake. Lots of salt. When you need to get up or down, use breathing exercises to get all the air you need. This helps me a little bit. Get enough sleep! It helps so much. Do floor exercises! If you can find good floor exercises to keep your endurance up, this will help you. Take this really slow as to not over exert yourself.
