How did you know you had POTS?

How did you guys know you had pots? I’m not diagnosed so i’m not sure if it’s pots or some other problem combined with my anxiety or something. When i stand up my heart rate goes from in the 60s to 130-150bpm, and i feel like i’m going to pass out. I’m dizzy a lot of the time and have other symptoms but i don’t know if they’re related. Does anyone know if that could be pots or something else?

You totally meet the criteria. Even if you don’t have a diagnosis, it may be worth trying stuff for POTS maintenance like taking salt sticks, increasing hydration, wearing compression clothing and doing core/lower body workouts

if your heart rate goes up 30 bpm after going from sitting to standing it’s pots, that’s how I got diagnosed by my neurologist

try tons of water and salt and see if it helps. i think i’ve grown out of it at 22 but i used to almost pass out like every time i stood up from lying down and my heart rate would go up to like 130 too. go see a doctor!!! maybe a cardiologist

Write down all your symptoms, even ones you dont think could be POTS. I did the test at home for a few days to see if it was a consistent issue and later found signs of hypovolemia and nerve pain once I knew what to look for. Your heart should never go up that high just from standing. When you wake up drink plenty of water before getting out of bed maybe wait ten minutes if you can. I hope you can figure out if its POTS soon and keep hydration up. Even if its not POTS a lot of water could help.

like for me pots is a baseline assumption and then you can work on your other symptoms

I still don't know if I have pots! the doctors have been unclear. I think its reasonable to assume you have pots (especially since it causes like 30 other symptoms and the only way to diagnose it is testing heartrate) but whenever you go to the doctor mention your other symptoms and see what they have to say
