Netlfix's show love on the spectrum season 3: Fellow autistics, what do you think of this show? I'm watching the third season now and I have a lot of thoughts and feelings. I wish the parents didn't make fun of their children's "faux pas". I wish there was broader representation. I dont feel seen by the the show - I even began to question my own diagnosis until I remembered things like me walking on my feet as a kid and people asking about my "acsent" or talking in paragraphs about things.

      @stinkyparanoidrat to be fair they start with that guy and quickly introduce many characters. They have autistics of different races and genders. My largest critic was they didn’t really show autistics with more subtle presentations.

      I watched the first episode and immediately stopped watching because it was another "white autistic man" showing one side of the spectrum and not a broader aspect. It was another repetitive type and I didn't enjoy it.

      Yeah. I was watching it before I was diagnosed bc I was like “I understand autistics from their perspective, but I want to observe their external behavior and cross analyze it with the neurotypical behavior I’ve been observing for years, than see where my intuitive (non masking) behavior better alines”. Ya know just allistic things /s. And it was nice to see actually autistic people on TV, but other than one girl in season 2 I could not see my self in any of those people.

      I avoided it because I expected it to be full of ableism and martyr parents.
