I have IC and contracted Covid at the beginning of May at a large conference, notwithstanding the fact that I was fully vaccinated and had 2 booster shots and wore a K95 mask 90% of the time but not in two small sessions. I even took the antiviral drug Plaxlovid. I got over Covid fairly quickly but Developed severe interstitial cystitis pain and ended up in the hospital and was dehydrated. All of my blood test showed normal activity. I have now learned that those with mild Covid can have a long Covid bladder syndrome. Even those who don’t have IC can get it. It causes much more severe pain then you have ever had and it can last for a long time. No one knows much about how to treat it but I’m trying to do my own research. I found research indicating that you can have a low-grade infection and severe inflammation in your bladder the treatment seems to be a type 1 antihistamine such as Allegra and Claritin as well as a mast cells stabilizing drugs and I’m asking my doctor for that. I can barely eat anything now as well. It is improving but I literally can only drink water milk and decaffeinated tea and can hardly eat anything that I could tolerate before. Anything with citric acid, even a little, causes severe pain. For example, I ate three strawberry Twizzlers because I can’t have chocolate and was up all night Has anyone else had a similar experience?
