I have been in an IC flare for several weeks now. Nothing is working. Antibiotics. Suppositories. Ice. PT. Meds. Any advice to help calm the bladder pain and urgency and frequency and vulva pain.

Also I forgot to mention to try the ICN diet, there is an app that helps-main things that make your flare worse or cause flare ups are alcohol, chocolate, coffee, hot spices, tomatoes, and citrus fruits
Oxybutinin. It’s a daily anti-spasmodic and it’s been a lifesaver. Also trigger point injections and muscle relaxers when needed. Because I really know what you mean, you’re attached to the heating pad all the time and that’s just no way to live.

" This girl is on fire"..3 weeks constant flare. Alkaline water, cleaner diet, finally just got the ok to try benadryl. I deal with many health issues, but have to admit..IC has been one of my worst and most painful to combat. Insurance companies trying to make up their mind if I have to see a different urologist. Finally just said that all the aggravation from which will cover my appointment is making me worse. If the benadryl doesn't help with the histamine..I am going to start mixing up some baking soda and warm water.

I’ve experienced severe flares many times throughout the 30 years that I’ve had I.C. Finally my urologist prescribed 2 to 4 mg. of Medrol a day. Though it is a corticosteroid not commonly prescribed for I.C., some urologists have been using it “off-label”. I have been on it for several years now and no longer have severe flares. No they are much milder and less frequent.

Infrared heating pad, muscle relaxer with Tylenol, epson salt bath -not too hot
Also I took 4 aloe Vera capsules a day at that time from desert harvest
For me my flare broke with strict IC diet and then later I reintroduced stuff slowly. I learned I can’t eat citrus or pineapple not even a tiny bit.
@mama11775. Yea all the time. I have a heating pad on my abdomen as we speak. Sometimes I do an ice pack and heat at the same time😬
Have you tried heat? So sorry. Flares really bite!
