My mom might have hEDS, would that normally cause joint pain in her knee that isn’t getting better for months? Also what about back pain from two vertebrae messing up the cartilage between them?

Oh absolutely, especially if she's still walking. I'm at a point with my hips where I have constant low grade pain and I'm only in my late teens- constant use of a joint, especially if she was over extending and not realizing (I had to relearn how to sit) will cause chronic pain like that. Back issues can be caused by a lot of different things and it's rarer for hEDS to cause huge amounts of problems with them bc they have a lot of stablizing muscles but it is possible that could be causing her back issues
