I am 6 years into ED recovery & I am an intuitive eater now! IE changed my life for the better. I understand the fear of being “out of control” with food choices. Think of it like this: giving your body unconditional permission to eat intuitively gives the power back to you. In the beginning I was eating a lot of foods I would’ve considered “bad” when I had my ED, but slowly those foods lost the power they had & became just like anything else. Now I’ll eat a salad if I’m craving it, pasta if I want it, a fruit smoothie might sound good, I’ll bake cookies. IE has transformed my relationship to my recovery & my body because I listen to my body. Literally the other day I had the thought “I want a kale salad and a chocolate chip cookie” so I went to the store & bought stuff for my salad & my cookies. I have achieved so much balance with IE & I hope my story encourages you! You can trust your body! 💛

I've heard a lot of recommendations about this diet, but I'm afraid to try it. I'm afraid that if I do it, I'll just eat junk food and eventually gain weight. I find it hard to believe that the choices I will make around food will be good for my body.
