Therapy is prob the best start! More specifically, ask your therapist about EDMR! If your trauma was very recent, then I would give it time before going into EDMR though. But also there’s nothing that will make the trauma just stop. It’s a healing process. But don’t give up hope! You CAN and WILL recover! Also doing research on PTSD and trauma is very helpful to better understand what you went though and make sense of it! I recommend the book the body keeps score! My therapist actually bought it for me after I told her I didn’t have PTSD bc I don’t have flashbacks like soldiers do on tv and bc I thought my trauma wasn’t valid enough. But anyways, education and therapy are very helpful! 💜

Try to interven with positive thoughts. I understand it's not easy I struggle with this as well, my therapist told me when it happens to close my eyes breath in through my nose for 5 seconds and out my mouth for 10 seconds and try to think about something you are grateful for like your alive you are strong and/or I am loved then open your eyes

💕 I’ve heard EMDR is helpful with a therapist. For me, I’ve rewritten my traumas into positive things…like choosing my story. My end. It’s helped me take some control back.
