does anyone else feel like a burden on their friends and family? I feel horrible having people take care of me all the time :( even if they say it's not my fault I worry people will distance themselves because of how much work I am to be around being in pain all of the time

Yes! I’ve heard it described as disability guilt. It’s so hard to work through all of the fallout that comes with chronic illness/disability.

All the time. It’s so nice to see others feel like this

I’ve been baking as I’m able to, and I made some cupcakes today for church tomorrow; I asked my brother to bring them for me since I know I most likely won’t be able to make it. His response? “Maybe if you actually got up on time you could bring it yourself.” It’s not about getting up early - it’s about being well enough to go. Plus, the earlier I get up, the worse I feel. It’s so difficult to get him to understand that, and I feel like I’m a burden to him (even though baking is the only way I make money at the moment).

🙋‍♀️ ME ME ME. every day my mom tells me the whole "I am objectively burdensome" thing is bs, I'm still a human person who has to shut up and let people support me because they want to, not because they have to
