I keep trying to make progress in my life and doing things that will help me (like exercise, eating healthy, budgeting, cleaning) but I keep feeling like nothing I do is enough. I feel part of this is because I'm in a not so stable relationship at the time, and my partner is very critical of things I fail to complete on time or when I have lapses in mental health he says I'm doing it for attention. This can feel extremely invalidating and make me feel like I'm not doing anything right. I actually brushed and flossed today and I consider that to be a huge win! But he says that I should be expected to do all these things anyway. I completely understand that, but it's a lot easier said than done especially during an episode. I guess my question is just how do I find ways to feel self assured and fulfilled when I've been thinking for so long that nothing I do has any value?

This relationship sounds very toxic. If I was your friend I'd be advising you to get out. A good partner is supportive, not vicious. As for self esteem, I have a super easy and cheap trick that's helped me immensely. I bought a 5 pack of colorful dry erase markers at the dollar store for $1. Anytime I can think of anything positive to say to or about myself, I write it on the bathroom mirror. "You are enough" "You have pretty eyes" "you are a supportive friend." Etc. It wipes right off just like a white board, and since its something you see every day, usually several times a day, its a constant reminder. When people aren't being kind to us, I think its especially important to be kind to ourselves.

Possible say in the mirror that you are doing enough, and acknowledge your progress. That is their opinion not yours. I hope this helps =)
