i just quit my second job because they were overworking me and underpaying me and having me work alone as a teen but now i feel super guilty about it and whenever i spend money, even on things i need, i feel worse. i really want to get a new job but i dont know if it’s gonna end horribly like my last 2 jobs

I was also in a situation like this. I had a horrible boss who was super mean to the employees, I was being paid below starting despite being very qualified for the position, and our boss had absolutely no respect for our scheduling requests/time off requests. It was super, super hard to quit because she was so nasty and because it was so hard to pin her down. I don’t regret quitting at all. You shouldn’t feel guilty either. You have to put YOU first, even if that means leaving a toxic workplace. I would start searching for a new job - ask to see the workplace and ask the boss questions about scheduling/the “vibe” at work/etc. Most of times the boss is a really good indicator of how the work environment is as well - my current job has the BEST work environment ever. My boss was all smiles and jokes when I came in for my interview and more than willing to answer my questions and address my concerns. She always has candy for us and loves to joke with us. My coworkers are also amazing people - they love chatting and are always so positive, but everyone is very real as well. I’d keep searching, just because you get an offer doesn’t mean you have to take it. :) wishing you the best!

i’ve struggled with this a lot. being slated to work alone as a teenager SUCKS. humans are pack animals by nature so it’s good for us to be around others, especially in a potentially stressful work environment. i think you should take things at your own pace to test the waters. if you get another job soon, then you need to be very clear with your boss about your work capabilities, like how many hours you can do a week. that way you can avoid overworking yourself. msg me if you wanna talk, i have lotsa personal experience with this!!
