Feeling Guilty for Taking Time Off Work

does anyone else feel horrible for calling off or asking time off work or is this just something my work place has made me feel horrible about doing?

i think it's wired into the way we're raised. everything teaches us that taking time off is bad and that we should feel guilty for it, or that we need a really good reason to not go in to work. it's a societal pressure that forces us to prioritize businesses over ourselves, and everyone i know (myself included) struggles with it it's really hard to change your mindset, but try to remember that's it's always more important to take care of yourself! if your boss tries to guilt you by saying they're understaffed or anything like that, it's the boss's fault for putting themself in that situation. bosses rarely ever put the needs of their employees into consideration, and that should be their cross to bear, not ours

I know how you feel, I feel bad for taking time off sick too and rarely do for my depression, silly really because I feel so much more relaxed in work afterwards.

I don't work because I feel I mentally can't right now but if I did then I'd call off somedays and I'd feel like you. But I don't think it's anything to be ashamed of because I'm sure people all over the world do the same thing when they have difficult days and they just can't go and I'm sure the managers understand and may even suggest help and support.
