Any good tips on dealing with thought loops/obsessive thoughts? I have ADHD + anxiety on top of Bipolar, which leads me to unfortunately get into a TON of thought loops! :[ usually I just try to distract myself from them but I'd like to know if there's any way to properly deal with the problem instead of just pushing it away for a moment. Usually I get stuck repeatedly going over stressful/negative situations or self hate stuff which leads me to spiral.

Omg. I am the same way. I think it’s an OCD thing? Like I’ll just say the same word or phrase in my head over and over and over and over again. It’s ANNOYING!!! So I’ll listen to music, or watch something, or journal. It’s hard to get out of the loop, I know. You just gotta push through it. ❤️ ❤️

I have the same problem. I've realized for me what helps is doing something with my hands, meditating I love guided meditations on YouTube, and I use cannabis.

Im not sure about long term but I just try to break it or interrupt it. I think of the most random thing or something I’m really into like a show or something. Sometimes if it’s really stuck I can add stimming or a shock to my system like spraying myself with cold water. Those are just short term for the occasional intrusive thought, but long term? I’d guess you’d have to find the root of the problem and solve that. If it’s a mistake from the past (which I get a lot) just shake it off. Especially if you can’t go back and change it. If anything just remember that things happen and people can be stupid so we work on learning how to do things better. Recognizing mistakes means realizing how it could’ve been different and deciding to do differently in the future

Wow you just described something I deal with daily! It is sooo annoying. I also am bipolar, have ADHD and anxiety. I think it’s related to OCD too. Wish I had advice

also, because of this, I tend to have a lot of unproductive and repetitive conversations which bothers me a lot!
