Irregular periods - seeking advice

So, ever since I was 16 my periods were irregular. I started my period when I was 13. It started out, I would skip a period, then I was skipping 2,3,4 and they dissapeared altogether until I was only having a period once a year. Then as of Jan 2021, they miraciously came back normal. I got a period every month for a year. Then, as of Feb 2022 until present day I lost them again? I am not on birth control and dont ever plan to be, I have not consulted with a doctor yet, I dont know if it could possibly be a type of hormonal imbalance. My mother has one, and it affected her differently than me though. I am just reaching out to see if there is anyone who experiences this type of irregular period and what you have done to go about it. Thanks!
