Is anyone taking a stimulant medication for ADD? I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow and am trying to figure out what medications we could talk about. I tried Adderall but ended up having one of those rare side effects that mimicked seizures. I'm a little nervous to try something, but I'm definitely at a point where I need something to function.

Not a stimulant but helps with ADHD is Wellbutrin( is currently helping me.) Another is Atomoxetine. (Forgive my spelling). Neither are stimulants but they work especially if you have other stuff going on

I used to take a combination of lamictal and daytrana. Both of those had helped me immensely with my ADHD and ADD. I would ask looking into something like that sometimes it's the medications that we least expect that work the best
I’m on ritalin, works well but i do get nausea sometimes

I had panic attacks on Adderall but Concerta works well for me.

I take Vyvanse for my ADHD seems to help alot. Was on Concerta in the past nd had to up my dose nd it ended up being to much for me nd I felt 'wired'.. if that makes any sense lol.
@Damber Yeah! I get what you mean! So I talked with my DR today and I guess they are uncomfortable with prescribing a stimulant so I guess I'll get to see a psychiatrist. 🤞 Fingers crossed I can get something that work for me and not cause weird side effects! 😅
Adderall works for me but not my friends brother, it gives him the panics. He takes Vyvanse and finds it makes him significantly friendlier. Maybe not as strong a focus as others can get, but it gets him through the day just fine
@Collectori Awesome!! I have heard some good things about Vyvanse. I honestly will settle with any help of focus I can get! Currently, I have a job that is super amazing for my lifestyle.. but gives absolutely no dopamine and it takes a LOT of focus. So I really want to keep it. 😅
Adderall worked well for me, but there are lots of options, both stimulants and non-stimulants for you to potentially try—I’m sure there’s something else for you!!
@aldrwytch Thank you! 😊 Sometimes it's easy to get discouraged when playing the medicine game!
Vyvanse
@RoseVirgo I've just recently heard of this one! Have you liked it?
@Usurpedorchid i tried vyvance and it caused me to have multiple psychotic episodes like seeing, hearing things, delusions. but that’s bc i have bipolar so if u don’t have like a mood disorder or something like that i’m sure you’ll be fine :)
I take Ritalin. It helps me a lot. I have to take it three times a day tho.
@EhzruhW Why do you have to take it so many times?
Ritalin has been pretty good

@housesucculent That's definitely one that I've been looking into! Has there been any weird side effects for you?
I'm taking a stimulant for ADHD. Concerta. It works differently to Adderall which used to give me panic attacks. But the Concerta works well. If that doesn't help there are other non stimulants that manage symptoms pretty well too.
@Lavan I've never heard of Concerta. I will have to look that up! I've tried Straterra which is a non stimulant but that didn't seem to do much for me. I guess it's just about finding the right medication that fits your body?
@Usurpedorchid i actually just started using concerta and it works well. doesn’t rly make u feel all tweaked out like adderall does.
